Growing Tips & Maintenace
- A vigorous shrub that will tolerate many soil and light conditions. Suckering freely, it is excellent for re-naturalization.
Note
Additional Notes
- Native to Ontario and other parts of North America. All parts of the plant are toxic to human beings, pets and livestock. But because of the distinctive odour of the leaves, animals tend to avoid it. The berries, high in antioxidants, are edible only if cooked. Uncooked berries can induce illness, and some people have a sensitivity to the berries even after they are cooked.
