Big Tuna mugo pine is slow-growing and grows best in full sun and a well-drained soil. If desired, pinching the candles in mid-spring will encourage a more compact form. To improve looks and airflow, these plants would benefit from periodic 'combing' (use your fingers) to remove dead material.
