A unique specimen with its unusual curving and trailing branches providing visual interest over slopes or rocky areas. It can be staked to provide a more varied height or left to crawl over rocks. Extremely adaptable, it tolerates heat, cold, dry, sandy, or poor soils. Ultimate height and spread depend on training.

The legend is that the name, ‘Uncle Fogy’ is believed to have come from the excessive resin that oozes from the new buds and, presumably, reminding the viewer of a toothless old man who drooled.
